Climate Projection and Drought Hazard Assessments in East Java Province
This case study demonstrates the use of both statistically and dynamically downscaled climate model data for developing rainfall projections and drought hazard assessment in Indonesia’s East Java province.
The drought hazard is represented by the Drought Hazard Index (DHI) based on two indicators (the Standardised Precipitation Index (SPI) and Dry Spell). Projections for the period 2011–2040 are compared to a historical baseline period (1981–2010). Dynamically downscaled data used in this case study is available in the RCCAP portal data repository.
