Climate Model Data Sources
One way of finding what climate projection information is available in the Asia-Pacific region is to use the RCCAP portal’s data search facility. These are some other examples of climate simulation data sources.
The World Bank Group Climate Change Knowledge Portal
A useful portal for access to basic CMIP3 and CMIP5 GCM data for a given country. Countries around the world can be selected to get summary projection data from the global models. Useful for assessment of the range of possible projections for a country.
KNMI climate change atlas
A useful portal for access to basic CMIP5 GCM data for a given region. Regions around the world can be selected to get summary projection data from the global models. Useful for assessing the range of possible projections.
NEX-GDDP dataset
This global dataset is statistically downscaled from CMIP5 GCM data using the BCSD[1] method to approximately 25 km resolution. Variables are maximum and minimum air temperature and rainfall.
Delta downscaled CMIP5 GCM data
Dataset produced by the CGIAR Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security research program using the delta method of statistical downscaling.
Worldclim
Free downscaled and bias-corrected CMIP5 data at 30-second, 2.5-minute, 5-minute and 10-minute resolution, for four RCP scenarios. Note this data is based on GCM projections, so it will not include climate change features at fine scale, even though it provides data at very high spatial resolution.
Changes predicted by CMIP3 GCMs
Global historic temperature and rainfall maps, plus future projections based on the IPCC Fourth Assessment models.
